4: iPhone Video Format – Free Video Player & Converter Recommend
iPhone supports two video formats which include:
- H.264 video format
- MPEG-4 video format
GoPro camera records your videos in the H.264 and MP4 formats. As such, all GoPro videos may not be playable on your iDevice if they are recorded in MP4 format since it is not supported by iPhone.
You may however download the free VLC iOS app if you want full MP4 support. The app supports all videos played in MP4 formats on iPhone or iPad. Hence, you can play your GoPro videos in MP4 format on iPhone through VLC.
However, if you wish to convert your GoPro videos so that they are playable on your iPhone, you may then use a video converter. There are many free video converter apps that you can use to convert your videos into supported formats. Like Freemake Video Converter.
Freemake video converter, yet another easy-to-use app, lets you convert your videos into various formats including MP4, MOV, AVI, 3GP, DVD, FLV and WMV.

Ratings and Reviews
Very frustrating app
While their kiosks want to show off that GoPro’s products are ideal for adventurous people in remote locations, their software reveals that their real market is people who want to take selfies and post them immediately to every social media outlet in the world. This software’s focus on “Sharing” is maddening. Be sure not to click on the “Quick” icon or you’ll be trapped in a “Get GoPro Quick” page – you have to force quit and re-launch to get back to the app. Basic interface features such as easy and quick navigation between shooting and post-production are missing, and the software’s lack of correct rotation on my iPad is maddening. On the one hand, this app is just poorly designed, on the other hand, the screwed up orientation just makes it seem like it’s still in beta. The Fusion camera I’m using is great, and when I can finally managed to get output from the app and saved to my LOCAL device – I’m not interested in Sharing, GoPro! – I’m really pleased with the results. Stop trying to appeal to idiot, selfie-driven teenagers and add options to let us users who are serious about real post-production more quickly get to our tools.
Oh! And when you export an image from the app all location and time metadata is stripped out! Really? In this day and age??

I mean it’s a good app unlike everyone else says Because then they probably don’t know how to use it (read all) I have a GoPro even though I know that I’m probably not gonna use it much only on trips and vacay’s but i still keep it just in case... let’s talk about the features okay we’ll Im first off you can live stream which is awesome you can see what your camera is seeing in live time even with sound! so it’s like a mini security camera second off you can download pictures and videos from your GoPro at any time but warning it does take a while which I don’t like but after a while you download it/them also when you first get the app it will take some time to start it up but then things will run smoothly. I normally don’t do reviews this is probably my first time doing one so I made it a bit long and thorough but what this whole passage was saying is, it’s a good app and even though you might not use it that much it still helps.
If I could give 0 stars I would
Gopro Hero 4 Download To Computer Windows 7
The gopro itself is a decent camera but the way it interfaces with this app is enough to make me want to sell it. This app is the least intuitive piece of software I have ever used and coming from such a large company thats just sad. I usually spend about 5-10 minutes trying to connect the camera (the only camera i ever connect) and when i finally do the gopro times out and turns itself off, disconnecting. Meaning i have to press a button on the camera every 4-5 seconds just to keep it alive, and when you’re trying to download something to the app that will take 20 minutes, you could see why this is maddening. The camera can be turned on and sitting next to the phone and it still takes 9 tries to connect it. Sometimes i have to connect through wifi, sometimes bluetooth, sometimes straight through the app. And not being able to give my camera a personal name? Just make it so only i can see that name and it wouldnt affect gopro in any way. This app behaves like one that is wayyy in beta. And it’s been like that for years now. Fix this gopro.
Developer Response,
Sorry to hear you're having issues. Try resetting the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections between your camera and the app, reset the Wi-Fi on your GoPro, then re-pair the two.
